The Computer Science and Engineering
The Computer Science and Engineering Department was established in the year 1997 -98 as a full fledged department. It has a total of 130 P4 Systems and assisted by another 250 computers from other associated departments with 10 servers. It has a Microprocessor Lab and Logic Design Lab. The college has a 2 MBPS Internet connection. The expertise in the department includes specialization in the field of networking, adhoc networks, sensor networks, network security, dot-net and Internet technology. In addition, there is specialization in the field of data-base management systems and data mining. In the field of operating systems, there is skill in Unix and Linux Operating Systems.
The faculties in the department are doing research in the field of Image Processing and Data Mining.
Electronics and Communications Engineering
The department has good infrastructure and well equipped laboratories in the following areas: Digital Design, Analog and Advanced Communication, V LSI, V H 0 L, Computer Networking, OS ~ Power Electronics. The faculties in the department have expertise in the following areas: Electronics Instrumentation, Electronic Measurements, Wireless Communication, Optical Fiber Communication, Radiating systems, Microwave device and Communication, Microprocessor, VLSI, Microcontroller, Embedded systems, Avionics, Modern sensors, Telemetry, Control system design, Image processing, Network security and operating systems.
The faculties are doing research in the field of VLSI design, Wireless communication, Wireless LAN, Networking and Network security.
Information Science and Engineering
Network topology, ISO OSI layer, Routing protocol, Congestion control Adhoc networks cross layer design. Software management, software modeling and design, various software models, software development, software practice and testing,. Principles of cryptography, key management, Digital signatures and Authentication, E-mail security and I P security. Embedded systems, concepts of embedded systems, requirements of embedded systems, applications.
Operating system, different types of operating systems, scheduling algorithms, resource management, process management. Database management, database architecture, ER model, RDBMS, SQL database, data mining and data warehousing.
Mechanical Engineering
Fluid Mechanics: Flow Induced Vibration of TV Towers, Chimneys, Tall Buildings, Off¬shore Structures, Tube Bundles in Heat Exchangers etc.; Turbulent Shear Flows ¬Boundary Layers, Wall jets, Interaction of jets; Flow Around Three-Dimensional Bluff Bodies Relevant to Building and Road-Vehicle Aerodynamics; Flow Visualization.
Turbo machines: Vibration analysis, Recent trends in small hydro stations, Application of hydraulic systems in power generating stations, Secondary flows, Hazards associated with Nuclear power systems.
TQM: ISO 9000, Certification procedures, SQC, Six Sigma.
CAD/CAM: Introduction to FEM, AutoCAD, Use of ANSYS, CATIA, SolidEdge.
Materials: Material Testing, Metallography, Composite materials. Problems associated with Tribology, Fracture Mechanics and Solar Systems.
