Dr. B. H. Lakshmana Gowda BE, ME, PhD, FNAE, FIE,  Professor/Dean, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

Prof. Gowda obtained his postgraduate degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and his doctoral degree from IIT, Madras.
He was formerly Professor of Applied Mechanics, IIT Madras. His field of research is Fluid Mechanics and he has worked in the areas of Turbulent Shear Flows - Wall Jets, Three-Dimensional Boundary Layers, Flow Induced Vibration, Wind Engineering, Industrial Aerodynamics, Flow Visualization.
He has guided several PhD and PG candidates and published more than 200 papers in reputed International and National Journals and in Proceedings of International and National Conferences.
He has more than four decades of experience in teaching, research and consultancy work. He has taught and carried out research at many Universities in Germany, Canada, Japan and South Korea.
He has investigated several research projects for agencies like DST, ARDB, ISRO, BRNS etc. and carried out consultancy work for many private organizations.
